Regina Grayson
San Francisco County
Project: The Wave 2.0
Regina Grayson is a current student at the University of California, Santa Cruz triple majoring in ethnic studies, community studies, and feminist studies with a minor in education. Born and raised in San Francisco, Regina is passionate about providing better resources and opportunities for at-risk youth.
"There can never be too many youth support programs working together [to] provide wrap-around services bringing a sustainable change, to cancel the negative words and stereotypes spoken over bay area youth even before they come into the world."
Regina will host a youth-centered group mentorship program with a focus in purpose development and goal setting, training youth to be agents of their own change, growth, and healing as leaders in their community in order to heal trauma Too many programs aim for a goal of moving youth out of hard times but do not praise and support them during their achievements. The Wave 2.0, as part of a network of wrap-around services for San Francisco youth, nurtures seeds as they blossom and creates a sustainable outcome for transformation within our community by calling up youth as the leaders they already are.
