Project: Talent Tour - Talent Shows at Oakland High Schools

Ace is 26 years old, a young entrepreneur and community activist born and raised in Oakland, CA. He grew up making a lot of bad choices in his youth, until he was encouraged to participate in programs that catered to his form of creative expression. This allowed him to begin painting a picture with his words and illustrate the pain and troubles he faced, as well as the potential solutions that he imagined could happen.

Ace is passionate about leadership development and strategic collaboration within urban communities for the advancement of youth. His dream is to see young leaders in urban communities find their unique talents and use them to change the world they live in for the better.

Ace will produce talent showcases in underserved schools within urban communities as a positive outlet and platform for creative expression. These talent shows will involve the community and empower students to use their gifts and talents to express the issues they face and change the world.

"To address program and budget cuts, teacher/staff scarcity, and the lack of support educators receive from families and community at large, we will advocate the need for creative and preforming arts to be reinstated in underserved schools within the urban community as a positive outlet and platform for creative expression. This also provides an opportunity for a new pipeline to be created between these underserved students and the neighborhood leaders and programs that make up the village who will empower them into their vision. Through our example of unity and togetherness we will intentionally exemplify to our young people, the value and need to live, dream and achieve greatness as a community. We are #BetterTogether"
